‘RICH Food, Smart City’ is a new book from The World Bank that offers solutions and policy changes for Asian cities seeking to boost the resiliency of local food systems while addressing widespread food insecurity around the region.
The acronym RICH stands for Reliable, Inclusive, Competitive, and Healthy, and The World Bank details the benefits of food-secure communities including the growth of new companies and industries, a reduction in food scarcity and waste, and stronger import-export relationships amongst regional economies.
