There’s been MAJOR news over the past month on global semiconductor production. Announcements by Samsung Electronics on multi-decade investments in the U.S. as well as their intent to shift production of component parts to Vietnam from China next year signal a big repositioning in chip manufacturing to better meet demand.
Other companies that are eyeing Vietnam for expansion include Intel Corporation, Broadcom Inc., Hitachi, and NXP Semiconductors.
Analysts have projected that Vietnam’s semiconductor market could grow by ~$6 billion between now and the end of 2024, which is tremendous news for high-tech manufacturing in the country.
